Dear Republicans,
Since you’re so fond of calling for apologies right now, why don’t you begin?
Perhaps start by apologizing to Robert Mueller, the man you have spent months trying to discredit and attacking as conducting a witch hunt.
You knew you had to brace yourself for the possibilities of very unpleasant results if the investigation continued.
But now that you have seen a couple page summary of the several hundred page report, where a man who attacked the credibility of the investigation, before being appointed as Attorney General, says don’t worry, there’s nothing to see here, so don’t bother looking. Please.
But surely if you accept this summary of the report as somehow proof of exoneration, then isn’t it time you acknowledge Mueller’s credibility and regret your attacks?
After you apologize to Robert Mueller, you can then begin to draft the one for Hillary Clinton.
The Mueller investigation brought forth indictments on thirty-four people and three entities, almost two hundred separate criminal charges, with five associates of Donald Trump, thus far, being convicted.
And somehow it needs to be apologized for?
The Benghazi investigation, by contrast, brought a grand total of, wait, let me grab my calculator, zero.
Zero indictments,
zero convictions.
But your apology seemed to slip your mind.
So stop the hypocrisy,
stop the hiding,
stop the deflections,
stop the lies,
and release the damn report!

A redacted version of the Mueller report was finally released on April 18, 2019. A non-redacted report has still not been made available to Congress
