Men,
Democrat, liberal, and progressive men,
Thank you for standing up against the rape culture all too often being condoned by the other side of the aisle at the national level.
But we also need to check ourselves. We were raised in rape culture. We were surrounded by it. We still are. We all need to evaluate what we are doing and where we might be supporting or condoning it or looking away, even unintentionally. And we need to fight to change it. Within ourselves, within our friend circles, within our community, within our government, within our nation.
We have a lot to do and the problem certainly isn’t just on the other side of the aisle.
